About the Institute

Welcome to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Commerce & M. V. R. Shinde Arts College (DBAMS College), one of the most prestigious colleges in Pune, India.

Since the foundation of the college in 1984, it has aspired to provide an all round education to students, belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, Other Backward Class. The college offers courses encompassing Arts and Commerce. If you decide to study at our college, you will be joining an academic institution where the needs of students are understood and their aspirations in academic, cultural, sports will be fulfilled. The training at our College would imbibe the progressive and scientific attitude in the minds of the students. This would help them in meeting the challenges of life. We are dedicated to ensure that your college life would be an enjoyable and memorable experience of your life.

In the first Academic year (1984-85), the total strength of the students was merely 120 but today it has been increased to near about 1000. We also have P.G. (M.A & M.COM.) programmes.

B.C Scholarship – The annual income of the family should be less than Rs. 2,00,000/- (for SC/VJ/NT/OBC/ SBC), Rs. 2,00,000/- (for ST) for availing this scholarship granted by the Govt. of India Scheduled Castes.

Students Welfare

To develop the work culture amongst studnts & to help them financially, the college has started "Earn while Learn scheme", in collaboration with the University of Pune. Under this scheme the economically weaker students are given the opportunity to earn while they are learning.

Placement Cell

The main aim of the placement cell is to act as contact place and facilitator to arrange campus visits and conduct of recruitment process of the prospective employers for the purposeful placement of graduating /Post graduating students of the college.

Library

Library is the heart of the college and it is a place for: "Provide Right Information at the Right Time, in the Right Place, in the Right Way to the Right Person".
